Trump says Ted Cruz 'shouldn't even exist'.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is yet to fall in line and endorse Donald Trump, and it’s not going unnoticed by the former president.

Last month Trump said Cruz and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) should be “very careful” in their reelection races in a post on Truth Social, adding “stranger things have happened.”

The threat worked with Hawley who endorsed Trump the day after the post, but Cruz told Politico he will remain neutral until there’s a GOP nominee.

“When he was president, he had no stronger ally in the Senate than me. And if he is the nominee, I will enthusiastically support his election in November,” he said.

Trump is not happy with Cruz’s decision and has been privately complaining and trying to come up with nicknames for the Texas senator, according to the New York Times.

“Ted — he shouldn’t even exist,” Trump has privately said. “I could’ve destroyed him. I kind of did destroy him in 2016, if you think about it. But then I let him live.”

Cruz and Trump fought a bitter primary battle in 2016 which saw the Texas senator getting booed off the stage at the GOP convention for refusing to endorse Trump.

Cruz ultimately fell in line and became one of Trump’s staunchest allies in Congress.
