Donald Trump claims women will be “happy,” “free” and won’t Eve be thinking about abortion again if he wins the presidential election in November.
In a late night post on Truth Social, Trump declared that women are poorer, sicker and more depressed now compared to when be was president and vowed to “fix all of that, and fast.”
WOMEN ARE POORER THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS HEALTHY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS SAFE ON THE STREETS THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE MORE DEPRESSED AND UNHAPPY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, AND ARE LESS OPTIMISTIC AND CONFIDENT IN THE FUTURE THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO!,” he wrote. “I WILL FIX ALL OF THAT, AND FAST, AND AT LONG LAST THIS NATIONAL NIGHTMARE WILL BE OVER.”
“WOMEN WILL BE HAPPY, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND FREE!,” he added. He went on to say the lives of women will improve because “YOU WILL NO LONGER BE THINKING ABOUT ABORTION” because abortion decisions will return to state-level decision-making, with exceptions for cases of rape, incest, and the mother’s life, while opposing late-term abortions.
“I WILL PROTECT WOMEN AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE,” Trump added. “THEY WILL FINALLY BE HEALTHY, HOPEFUL, SAFE, AND SECURE. THEIR LIVES WILL BE HAPPY, BEAUTIFUL, AND GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump’s post comes as Vice-President Kamala Harris is traveling the country highlighting ‘Trump abortion bans,’ noting that the former president appointed the three justices that gave conservatives on the Supreme Court a supermajority to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision, more than 20 states have passed restrictive abortion legislation, including Georgia where the state’s abortion ban led to doctors delaying a life-saving procedure for two one women—one of whom is identified as Amber Nicole Thurman, 28—resulting in their deaths.
“Now we know that at least two women — and those are only the stories we know here in the state of Georgia — died because of a Trump abortion ban,” Harris said during a speech at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Friday.
“There is a word preventable, and there is another word, predictable,” Harris added. “And the reality is, for every story we hear of the suffering under Trump abortion bans, there are so many other stories we’re not hearing where suffering is happening every day in our country.”
