Trump secretly sent Putin covid tests during shortage, Bob Woodward’s new book reveals.

A new book from legendary journalist Bob Woodward reveals that Donald Trump secretly sent Vladimir Putin COVID tests for his personal use as the Russian president self-isolated out of fear for the virus and the country was experiencing a shortage of tests to tackle the novel virus.

CNN obtained an advance copy of Woodward’s new book titled War in which the journalist reported that Trump sent Putin a batch of tests and that the Russian president warned Trump not to reveal that he had sent the equipment, which were in short supply at the time .

According to the book Putin told Trump, “Please don’t tell anybody you sent these to me.”

“I don’t care,” Trump responded. “Fine.”

“I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me,” Putin said. “They don’t care about me.”

Woodward also revealed that Trump has communicated with Putin several times since he left the White House.

“According to Trump’s aide, there have been multiple phone calls between Trump and Putin, maybe as many as seven in the period since Trump left the White House in 2021,” Woodward writes.

Trump campaign official Jason Miller pushed back telling Woodward, “Um, ah, not that, ah, not that I’m aware of.”
