Trump sends cease and desist letter to stop RNC from using his name for fundraising.

Donald Trump has sent ‘cease and desist’ letters to the three largest fundraising entities for the Republican Party — the Republican National Conference (RNC), National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC)— to stop them from using his name and likeness in their fundraising efforts, according to Politico.

Trump is reportedly furious that his name is being used by organizations that support Republicans who voted to impeach him.

“President Trump remains committed to the Republican Party and electing America First conservatives,” a Trump adviser told Politico. “But that doesn’t give anyone – friend or foe – permission to use his likeness without explicit approval.”

On Friday, the RNC sent out an email asking people to donate as a way to add their name to a “thank you” card for Trump.

“Privately GOP campaign types say it’s impossible not to use Trump’s name, as his policies are so popular with the base. If Trump really wants to help flip Congress, they argue he should be more generous. His team, however, sees this differently,” Politico reports.
