Donald Trump reposted a threatening video on his Truth Social app on Thursday promising to exact revenge on anyone who “fucks around with us.”
The 9-second video was originally posted to Truth Social by the verified account “MAGA.com” with the caption, “We aren’t afraid of them.”
“If you fuck around with us, if you do something bad to us, we are going to do things to you that have never been done before,” Trump is heard saying in the clip.
The audio is from a radio interview Trump did in October 2020 with Rush Limbaugh while he was discussing Iran.
The audio has been repurposed as Trump faces the possibility of a second federal indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith, this time over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
On Thursday the federal grand jury convened by Smith to decide whether to indict Trump heard testimony from former White House aide, William Russell, who was with Trump for much of the day on Jan. 6, 2021.
Trump said on Tuesday that he received a letter notifying him that he is a target in Smith’s Jan. 6 investigation.
The target letter mentioned three federal statutes under which the former president is expected to be charged: Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States; deprivation of rights under color of law; and tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant.
