Trump slams 'loser' McConnell after the Senate GOP leader condemned him for dining with Fuentes

Donald Trump fired back at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) after he condemned the former president for hosting white nationalist Nick Fuentes at his Mar-a-Lago club for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner .

McConnell told reporters on Tuesday, “there is no room in the Republican Party for antisemitism or white supremacy and anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view, in my judgment, [is] highly unlikely to ever be elected president of the United States.”

In an interview on Fox News Digital, Trump fired back at McConnell, calling him a “loser.”

“Mitch is a loser for our nation and for the Republican Party who would not have been re-elected in Kentucky without my endorsement, which he begged me for because he was going down,” Trump said. “His well-financed opponent had $93 million ready to spend when I drove him from two points down to 21 points up in a matter of days.”

A growing number of Republicans are condemning Trump for meeting with Fuentes, an avowed white nationalist and rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. West has been dropped by several brands due to anti-semitic comments.

In the interview on Tuesday, Trump claimed once again, that he had no idea who Fuentes was when he accompanied Ye to dinner.

“I had never heard of the man — I had no idea what his views were, and they weren’t expressed at the table in our very quick dinner, or it wouldn’t have been accepted,” Trump said.
