Trump slams Smithsonian for showing “how bad slavery was.”

Donald Trump rattled off a list of grievances against the Smithsonian Museum on Tuesday, including criticizing the museum for showing “how bad slavery was.”

Last week, the White House announced they will be conducting an extensive review into the Smithsonian Institution to ensure that its exhibitions reflect Trump’s view of American history ahead of the country’s 250th birthday.

In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump lashed out at the museum and suggested he would pressure the Institution fall in line like he has attempted to pressure colleges and universities across the country.

“The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future,” Trump said on social media.

“I have instructed my attorneys to go through the Museums, and start the exact same process that has been done with Colleges and Universities where tremendous progress has been made.”
