Trump supporters harass Biden campaign bus in Texas.

The Biden campaign canceled an event in Austin, Texas on Friday after harassment by Trump supporters.

Historian Dr. Eric Cervini said he flew to Texas to help the Biden campaign with their last minute attempt to get out the vote in the once reliable red state.

According to Dr. Cervini, pickup trucks flying Trump flags were waiting to “ambush the Biden/Harris campaign bus as it traveled from San Antonio to Austin”.

“These Trump supporters, many of whom were armed surrounded the bus on the interstate and attempted to drive it off the road. They outnumbered police 50-1 and they ended up hitting a staffer’s car,” Cervini tweeted. “The police refused to help. When I flagged down one officer, he said his hands were tied.” According to Cervini the cop said it was “not my jurisdiction,” .

Biden campaign staffers told The Daily Beast, that they called the police and the bus was escorted to its destination. No one was hurt in the altercation.

Trump, meanwhile is endorsing his supporters behavior. On Saturday he tweeted a video of the incident with the caption, “I LOVE TEXAS!”

Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro also praised the move, saying they are just ordinary Americans “taking the elections into their own hands.”

Texas Democrats told CBSAustin that they canceled the event to avoid pulling focus away from VP candidate Sen. Kamala Harris who was also campaigning in Texas on Friday.
