Trump tells his supporters to donate directly to his PAC, not to "RINOS"

After the Republican National Committee rejected Donald Trump’s request to stop using his name and likeness to raise money, Trump urged his supporters to donate directly to his PAC, ‘Save America’ instead of giving their money to ‘Republican in name only’ or ‘RINOs’.

No more money for RINOS [Republican in name only],” Trump said in his statement, according to Axios. “They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base — they will never lead us to Greatness.”

He then urged his supporters to send their contributions directly to his own Save America PAC by using his personal website, adding, “We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!”

On Saturday, Politico reported that Trump sent cease-and-desist letters to the three main Republican fundraising entities including the RNC. Trump is furious that his name is being used by organizations that support Republicans who voted to impeach him.

Attorneys for the RNC pushed back on Trump’s cease-and-desist letter saying the committee “has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech” and said “it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals.”

Also, RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Trump personally approves of the RNC’s current use of his name in fundraising and other materials.
