Trump tries to take credit for record stock market gains under Joe Biden.

Donald Trump, who predicted that the stock market would crash under Joe Biden’s presidency, is now trying to take credit for record stock market gains under Joe Biden.

“THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET,” Trump wrote in an all-caps Truth Social post, “BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP.”

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index set record highs last week.

Of course, the former president did not provide any evidence to support his claim that investors are buying stocks now in anticipation of his potential victory, 10 months away.

Polling shows a close race between Biden and Trump in November, with the former president slightly ahead.

Trump has repeatedly said the stock market would crash under Biden. He said it in 2020 before his lost to Biden and as recently as Jan. 10 at a rally in Iowa before the caucuses.

The Biden campaign mocked Trump for trying to claim credit for the gains in the stock market on X/Twitter by comparing the former president’s comments to his Truth Social post.
