Trump’s ‘biblical principles’ is what ‘I really like about him’, supporter says

Trump's 'biblical principles' is what 'I really like about him', rally attendee says.

A Trump supporter at the former president’s rally in Robstown, Texas on Saturday said Donald Trump’s ‘biblical principles’ is why he supports him.

“The biblical principles that Trump embraces is what I really like about him,” the man said. “I’ve never heard another president invoke the name of God and Jesus more than I’ve heard [former] president Donald J Trump. The main thing for me is that he’s embracing biblical principles. And follow the Bible and you can’t go wrong.”

Trump is at a rally in Robstown to support Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and state Attorney General Ken Paxton’s re-election bids.

Paxton is the most vulnerable Republican incumbent running for state office in Texas this midterm cycle due to his legal troubles, according to the Texas Tribune. Paxton was indicted seven years ago on security fraud charges, which are still pending. He’s also the subject of an FBI investigation after former aides came forward to accuse him of abusing his office by helping a rich donor. Paxton also made national headlines last month when he fled his home in a car driven by his wife to avoid a subpoena.

Polls show Paxton is locked in a close race with Democrat Rochelle Garza.

The rally also comes amid reports that the FBI found classified intelligence on Iran and China among the documents agents recovered from Trump’s Florida home in August. Trump is also facing a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 committee for documents and testimony relating to the Capitol insurrection.
