Trump's former deputy press secretary to testify publicly at Jan. 6 committee hearing.

Donald Trump’s former deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews, has agreed to testify publicly at the upcoming Jan. 6 committee hearing, according to CNN.

Matthews resigned from her role in the Trump White House after the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot, saying at they time that she was “deeply disturbed” by the events.

Her testimony comes weeks after another Trump White House aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, testified before the committee.

After Hutchinson’s bombshell testimony last week, Matthews spoke out to defend her as Trump allies questioned her credibility.

“Anyone downplaying Cassidy Hutchinson’s role or her access in the West Wing either doesn’t understand how the Trump (White House) worked or is attempting to discredit her because they’re scared of how damning this testimony is,” she wrote.

Matthews’ testimony could take place as early as next week sources tell CNN.
