Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba slammed the $354 million fraud ruling against her client and vowed retribution against Judge Arthur Engoron for the decision and New York Attorney General Letitia James for bringing the case against the former president and his organization.
“He’s not going to get away with it. Letitia James is not going to get away with it. The Biden administration is not going to get away with it,” Habba said in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“They will not get away with it,” she added. “We will come at them. We will come hard, and we will literally fight until the truth comes out. There was nothing wrong.”
Judge Engoron had already found Trump, the Trump Organization and several top executives, including his adult sons, liable for fraud before the trial began.
On Friday, Judge Engoron ordered Trump to pay nearly $355 million in in penalties for inflating and deflating the value of his assets to receive lower taxes and better insurance coverage. Trump’s adult sons, Don Jr and Eric, were also ordered to pay $4 million each. All three Trumps were also banned from doing business in New York for at least two years.
Trump has said he will appeal the ruling, but legal experts say he has no chance of winning.
