Trump's lawyer says Kari Lake lawsuit could help get the former president reinstated

An attorney for Donald Trump said Karl Lake’s lawsuit in Arizona might end up getting the former president reinstated.

During an appearance on One America News Network (OANN) attorney Christina Bobb was asked if Trump can prove the election from two years ago was “screwed” if Lake ends up winning her case.

“Well, it’ll be interesting. You know, I don’t know. I mean one state as we know. We would need three states, so I wouldn’t necessarily say right away, certainly maybe down the road,” Bobb said. “But I would expect the governor Lake to clean up the process”

Lake, a staunch supporter of Trump and his false claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, filed a lawsuit in the Maricopa County Superior Court last week. Lake is asking the judge to either declare her the winner of the Arizona gubernatorial election, or order a new election in Maricopa County despite a lack of evidence of voter fraud.

“Lake received the greatest number of votes and is entitled to be named the winner. Alternately, the election must be re-done in Maricopa County to eliminate the effects of maladministration and illegal votes on the vote tallies reported by Maricopa County,” the lawsuit says.

Democratic governor-elect Katie Hobbs’ campaign manager, Nicole DeMont slammed the lawsuit in a statement, calling it a “nuisance.”

“Kari Lake needs attention like a fish needs water,” DeMont said. “Independent experts and local election officials of both parties have made clear that this was a safe, secure, and fair election.”
