Trump’s trial date in federal Jan. 6 case set for March 2024.

CEOs say Trump was 'meandering' and 'doesn’t know what he’s talking about’ during meeting.

Former President Donald Trump is set to go on trial in March 2024 over his alleged attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan said at a hearing on Monday that the January 2024 proposed trial date put forth by federal prosecutors doesn’t give Trump enough time to prepare. But the April 2026 date proposed by Trump’s team is “far beyond what is necessary.”

Instead, Chutkan set a March 4, 2024 date for the trial to begin, one day before Super Tuesday where a number of states will be hold presidential primaries to determine the GOP nominee.

Trump is the current frontrunner in the GOP primary race.

“I take seriously the defense’s request that Mr. Trump be treated like any other defendant that appears before this court, and I intend to do so,” Chutkan said, according to CBS.
