Tuberville complains that Trump isn’t getting the proper respect in court

Tuberville defends Trump’s cabinet nominees: Trump “will not pick somebody that’s a criminal”

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) complained that Donald Trump is not getting the proper respect in the New York courtroom where he is on criminal trial for paying hush money to a porn star to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Tuberville, who traveled to New York to show his support for Trump with Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) took issue with Trump being referred to in court as “Mr Trump” and not “former president Trump.

“First of all, I’m disappointed in the courtroom. I’m hearing, ‘Mr. Trump, Mr. Trump.’ He is former President Trump. Give him some respect. I mean, that’s what that place is in there. It’s no respect,” Tuberville said, in a clip highlighted by Mediaite.

“The Republican candidate for president of the United States is going through metal anguish in a courtroom that’s very depressing.,” he added. “Very depressing. I’m glad to stand by President Trump. I’m a friend of his. I’m here more as a friend than backing him as candidate as president.”

Tuberville’s appearance in court Monday comes as Trump’s former fixer turn star witness for the prosecution, Michael Cohen takes the stand to testify against the former president in the case.
