Tuberville praises Katie Britt for playing the 'housewife' role: "I thought she did good"

Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville praised his colleague Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) for playing the role of a “housewife” during her response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address Thursday night.

Britt delivered her widely panned rebuttal to Biden’s fiery State of the Union address from her kitchen in Alabama.

However, Tuberville claimed she did well considering the role she was given, which is that of a housewife.

“You’ve got to remember that she was given the role of a mom, given the mom approach, you know, the housewife,” he said in a statement to Newsweek. “I thought she did good. I mean, what else are you going to do? She talked about, you know, family and the direction that she would like to see the country go, and I thought she did good.”

The former football coach didn’t stop there. He also went on Newsmax to call Britt a “housewife” and said she did well under the circumstances.

“Well, considering the circumstances, I thought she did very well,” Tuberville said according to a clip shared by Mediaite. “And, you know, she’s a mom, she’s a housewife. She’s around people, in a young age… I thought Katie was a was a very good choice.”
