Texas synagogue hostage-taker demanded the release of convicted terrorist 'Lady Al Qaeda' during 10-hour standoff: Report.

Two teenagers in the UK were arrested in connection with Saturday’s hostage incident in Colleyville, Texas.

The teenagers were arrested and taken into custody for questioning by the Greater Manchester Police. It wasn’t immediately clear what connection the pair had to the hostage incident.


“CTP North West and CTP International operations continues to assist the investigation being led by the US authorities, and police forces in the region are liaising with local communities to put in place any measures to provide further reassurance,” police said. 

Malik Faisal Akram, 44, a British national took a rabbi and three others hostage at the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, Texas before noon Saturday and demanded the release of Aafia Siddiqui.


Siddiqui, also known as  “Lady Al-Qaeda” is a Pakistani, American-educated neuroscientist currently serving an 86-year sentence in a Texas federal prison after being convicted of attempting to murder a US soldier in 2010.

The hostage situation lasted for about 10 hours. Akram was fatally shot by an FBI team after all four hostages were safely released.
