U.S. records more than 150,000 new coronavirus cases for the first time.

The country recorded over 150,000 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, the first time since the pandemic began over 9 months ago.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the country recorded 153,496 confirmed cases of the virus and 919 deaths. Its the tenth consecutive day the country has topped 100,000.

67,036 people were hospitalized with the virus, making it the third consecutive day that the country recorded more than 60,000 hospitalizations.

This brings the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 10,560,771 and 242,477 deaths.
