US sets new single day record for COVID cases.

The United States set a new record for the number of Americans infected and hospitalized with the coronavirus in a single day on Friday.

According to data from the COVID Tracking Project, the US added 225,000 new cases on Friday, passing the previous record of 217,000 set the day before. Since the start of the pandemic, the country recorded 14,146,191 cases.

Another 2,563 American died from COVID-19 on Friday. 269,791 Americans have lost their lives so far as a result of COVID-19. 101,276 Americans are currently hospitalized with the virus.
