US shatters single-day record of new coronavirus cases.

On Thursday the United States shattered the record for the highest single-day increase of new coronavirus cases, breaking the 70,000 barrier for the first time.

According to John’s Hopkins University, the country recorded an astonishing 77,255 new coronavirus cases, breaking the previous record of 67,791 set two days prior.

The nation’s epicenter, Florida recorded their second highest number of new cases since the coronavirus pandemic began–13,965.

Thirty-nine states including, California, Arizona, Florida, and Texas have reported an increase in the number of coronavirus cases from the week before, according to CNN. Counties in these states hit hard by the virus have ordered refrigerated trailers to help store dead bodies since morgues are at capacity.

Overall, the U.S. has now recorded 3,576,430 cases of COVID-19 and at least 138,359 people have died.
