A video showing a lone Ukrainian man trying to block a Russian military convoy has gone viral and is being compared to the “tank man” of Tiananmen Square.
The video posted by Ukrainian outlet HB shows the man running into the road to try and stop the convoy of armored military vehicles. The vehicles swerved to avoid hitting the man and continued on their journey.
“Ukrainian rushes under enemy equipment so that the occupiers do not pass,” HB wrote on Twitter.
The video went viral on social media and sparked comparisons to a photo of a man standing in front of a line of Chinese tanks in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square in 1989.
