Nearly half of Americans believe that Donald Trump was ‘involved’ in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide while in custody at a Manhattan correctional facility awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019.

According to a YouGov and Economist poll, nearly half of Americans believe that the president was somehow involved in Epstein’s alleged crimes.

When respondents were asked, “Do you think that Donald Trump was involved in crimes allegedly committed by Jeffrey Epstein?” 46 percent said yes, 32 percent said no, and 23 percent were not sure.

So far, no evidence has emerged implicating Trump in Epstein’s crimes. But, Trump had a years long friendship with Epstein, who once claimed to be Trump’s “closest friend.

The poll also shows that a majority of Americans, 61%, disapprove of the government’s handling of the Epstein case while just 21 percent  approve. Additionally, 67 percent of respondents said they think the government is covering up evidence related to Epstein, while just 12 percent believe that nothing has been covered up.
