Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz brought the House down on Tuesday with an epic ‘couch’ zinger aimed at Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sen J.D Vance.
Speaking at their first joint rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since Vice-President Kamala Harris announced Walz as her running mate, the governor delivered several zingers aimed at the Trump/Vance ticket, including one in which he questioned Vance personal story as told in his bestselling book, Hillbilly Elegy.
“JD studied at Yale, had his career funded by silicon valley billionaires, and wrote a bestseller trashing that community. That’s not what middle America is. And I’ve got to tell you, I can’t wait to debate the guy,” Walz said.
As the audience cheered, Walz added “that is if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up,” referencing social media memes that suggested — falsely — that Vance once sexually violated a couch.
“You see what I did there,” he added.
