A man suspected of trying to rob a home in Montgomery County, Maryland had to be rescued after he got stuck in the home’s chimney.
According to WTOP, officers responded to a call about an attempted robbery at the home early Saturday morning. When officers arrived on the scene they found a man trapped in the chimney.
Montgomery County police spokesperson Shiera Goff said the man was trying to rob the home when he ended up stuck.
It took two dozen firefighters an hour and a half to remove him from the chimney, WTOP reports.
Firefighters removed the bricks individually and peeled away the wall to successfully free the burglar.
He suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital with a police escort, authorities said.
