White House lawyers said documents with classified markings were found in President Joe Biden’s home garage in Wilmington, Delaware.
Special Counsel to the President Richard Sauber said in a statement on Thursday that a “small number of Obama-Biden Administration records with classified markings” were found “among personal and political papers” in storage spaces at Biden’s home.
The news comes amid a Department of Justice investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents after several documents with classified markings were found at his Mar-a-Lago property.
Unlike Trump’s team, attorneys for Biden immediately notified the National Archives and are cooperating with a Department of Justice review.
