The former daughter-in-law of Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, says he will flip on Donald Trump amid an investigation into his taxes in New York.
Weisselberg has reportedly overseen the Trump Organization’s finances for 40 years. On Wednesday CNN reported that New York Attorney General Letitia James has been conducting a criminal investigation into his taxes for months.
Asked by CNN’s Erin Burnett if she believed her one time father-in-law would flip on Trump, Jennifer Weisselberg responded, “yes”.
Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen said every financial transaction conducted by the Trump Organization went through Weisselberg who then reported it to Donald Trump.
“Allen Weisselberg knew every single dollar in, and every single dollar — not even dollar, to the penny. Every single penny in and every penny out went through Allen Weisselberg’s desk, and then reported, before and after, to Donald J. Trump,” Cohen said.
Jennifer Weisselberg was married to Allen Weisselberg’s son Barry Weisselberg before the couple separated in 2018. She has been cooperating in the investigation. According to the Hill, investigators reportedly took three boxes of documents and a laptop from her last month.
“I have no motivation, I get nothing out of this, but I think the truth matters,” she answered when asked why she is cooperating. “And I think it’s so horrifying to think that Donald Trump could be president again knowing that I know.”
