A Florida woman was arrested after she allegedly threw a glass of wine at Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on Saturday in Miramar Beach, Florida at the South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival.
According to the police report obtained by ABC News, Gaetz told officers that the woman, identified as Selena Jo Chambers, 41, recognized him and began swearing loudly at him. She also threw her drink at him while walking past him at the event.
Gaetz said he was speaking to another person at the time and the drink hit both of them.
The other person was identified as Blaine Odom. Odom told police that after Chambers threw the drink at them she “walked away yelling and flipping him off.”
Chambers was arrested at the event and charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of battery on an elected official, a felony. She was released on $1,000 bond.
