An Illinois woman was arrested in Hawaii after she submitted a fake vaccination card saying she received the ‘Maderna’ vaccine.
According to Hawaii News Now, Chloe Mrozak, 24, was arrested on Saturday over allegations that she used a fake vaccine card to fly to Hawaii on August 23 and bypass a mandatory 10-day quarantine for unvaccinated visitors.
Investigators say they received a tip that Mrozak faked her card. The handwritten card said she received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine in Delaware from members of the National Guard. Officials in Delaware told investigators that they could not find any evidence that she was vaccinated in her medical records.
The card also misspelled ‘Moderna’–one of the three COVID vaccines in the US–as ‘Maderna’.
Mrozak was arrested on Saturday at the Daniel K. Inouye international Airport while trying to book a departure flight.
She is being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Center and is accused of falsifying vaccination documents. Bail is set at $2,000, Hawaii News Now reported.
