Youngkin calls for review of AP African American studies course.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) is reviewing an AP African American studies course after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) rejected the course for “significantly lacking educational value.”

“After numerous reports about draft course content, the governor asked the Education Secretariat to review the College Board’s proposed AP African American Studies course as it pertains to Executive Order 1,” Gov. Youngkin’s spokeswoman Macaulay Porter said in a statement, according to ABC News.

Youngkin’s executive order 1, bans critical race theory and the teaching of “inherently divisive concepts” in Virginia’s public schools.

Critical race theory is an academic and legal framework about systemic racism being a part of American society. It is a college level course, not taught in K-12 classes.

No one should be more aware of this than Youngkin considering that he set up a tip line for people to submit complaints about CRT and other divisive concepts being taught in schools but, it was shut down because not enough people were sending in tips, according to Insider
