Attorney for 'QAnon Shaman' says his client's mental health is rapidly declining in jail.

The attorney for Jacob Chansley, aka the “QAnon Shaman” said in court Friday that his client’s mental health is rapidly declining in jail and he will be filing a motion for a pretrial release.

Albert Watkins told federal court judge Royce C. Lamberth that jail “has taken its toll,” on the 33-year-old charged in connection with the Capitol riot.

According to Insider, Watkins told the judge the isolation Chansley is being held in would be problematic for even a healthy individual and said that his client “requires healthcare now.” He asked for a mental health evaluation to determine Chansley’s competence, and said he will file a motion for pretrial release.

Lamberth ordered that Chansley undergo a mental health evaluation.

Prosecutors said they will oppose a motion for Chansley to be released, according to Insider.

Chansley, the most recognizable Trump supporter to storm the Capitol on Jan. 6 was arrested and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

In court on Friday Watkins said he obtained videos that shows Chansley was given permission by a high-ranking law enforcement officer to enter the Capitol “as long as he was peaceful.” He added that Chansley didn’t assault anyone, or steal or destroy items while inside, Insider reported.

  1. That’s ok. Let him rot. The Insurrection he took part in has taken a much bigger toll on the rest of America.

  2. No longer a free range bull. Captivity and confinement are appropriate for this animal.

Like most people unfamiliar with the Justice system, this poor guy’s mental health deteriorates over his incarceration.

AOC receives therapy for the terror he participated in and I suspect many more people with suffer PTSD from it. And how about those dead people-have their families suffered mental health deterioration since QShaman did his bit for his society?

I say bag his bullshit and make him do his time like the rest of us if we act out like he did.
