Comedian Bill Burr is doubling down on calling Elon Musk a “Nazi” and said he should be the one forced to justify making “piece of shit cars the government financed.”
Burr triggered Musk fans and Republicans earlier this week when he dismissed the idea that the billionaire’s gesture at Donald Trump’s inauguration was anything but a seig heil.
“That idiot Elon Musk,” Burr said on NPR’s Fresh Air. “That guy….who evidently is a Nazi. Like, I just refuse to believe that it was an accidental two-time Sieg Heil. And he does it at a presidential inauguration.”
Musk and his supporters have claimed he was giving a ‘Roman salute.’
In an interview on The Breakfast Club Friday, Burr said he was just making a “common sense comment that we shouldn’t have a Nazi” anywhere near the White House.
“What I don’t get is the amount of veterans, people in the armed services, that died to stop Hitler and then this guy comes in, you know, and does that, while being an immigrant too, the whole thing, none of it tracks,” Burr added on a clip highlighted by Mediaite.
Burr also took issue with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), specifically Musk’s email asking federal employees to justify their jobs or get fired.
“I don’t understand why they’re so upset with this country. You’re billionaires. I think it’s working for you,” Burr said. “Why are you going and telling everybody, justify what you do. It’s like, justify what you do! That piece of shit car you’re making that the government financed.”
