Boebert begs for cash: “I’m in the fight of my political career”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) is begging for campaign donations to fight to save her “political career.”

“It’s Monday and we’re going to do a MAGA Monday Money Bomb! As you know, I’m in the fight of my political career in Colorado’s 4th District,” Boebert wrote in a post on X/Twitter. “The establishment has done all they can to take me out and without the funds to fight back, they just might win!”

Boebert was elected to Congress to represent Colorado’s 3rd district, but she switched to the more GOP friendly 4th district last year after a closer than expected re-election battle in 2022.

Colorado’s 4th district representative Rep. Ken Buck (R), who had planned to leave Congress at the end of his term, opted for an earlier retirement thus triggering a June 25 special election to fill his seat for the rest of this year. It is also the date of the state primary election contests.

Boebert slammed Buck’s decision to retire, calling it a “gift to the uniparty,” adding, “the establishment concocted a swampy backroom deal to try to rig an election I’m winning by 25 points.”

Buck called Boebert’s claims “ridiculous”.

He said that his decision to retire early was due to his growing frustration with Congress and the timing was because he wanted the special election to overlap with the June 25 primary elections.

Even though she is begging for money, Boebert has a massive cash advantage over the rest of the GOP primary field. The congresswoman ended 2023 with $1.2 million on hand. Meanwhile, her main competitor, former state senator and Logan County Commissioner Jerry Sonnenberg had roughly $151,000.
