Booker says he will not accept donations from Elon Musk.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said Sunday that he would not accept campaign donations from Elon Musk following his public clash with Donald Trump and some Democrats suggesting that the party should welcome back the far-right billionaire.

Last week, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) suggested that the Democratic Party should reconsider its relationship with Musk, adding that he “looks forward to Elon turning his fire against MAGA Republicans instead of Democrats in 2026.”

On NBC’s Meet the Press, anchor Kristen Welker asked Booker if he would accept Musk’s money.

“I would not accept money from Elon Musk for my campaign, but I would be supportive of anybody, including Elon Musk, putting resources forward right now to let more Americans know” about the bill, Booker responded.

Musk and Trump’s relationship imploded last week after Musk criticized Trump’s budget bill calling it a “disgusting abomination,” urged Republicans to kill it and promised to back efforts ousting Republican lawmakers who vote to support the legislation.

Trump initially avoided directly addressing Musk, but on Thursday he weighed in calling his ex-‘first buddy’ “crazy” and suggesting he has “Trump derangement syndrome.”

Since then, the feud has escalated with Musk claiming Trump is named in the Epstein files and Trump threatening to pull Musk’s government contracts.

On Saturday, Trump told NBC News that Musk will face “serious consequences” if he funds Democrats.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump said. “He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that.”
