Buffalo man arrested after threatening to copy Buffalo shooting: Report.

A Buffalo man was arrested and accused of making terroristic threats after he threatened businesses in the area with an attack similar to Saturday’s mass shooting at Tops supermarket.

According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office Joseph S. Chowaniec, 52, allegedly called a pizzeria and a brewery in downtown Buffalo on Sunday and made threats referencing Saturday’s mass shooting at the supermarket.

“This defendant is accused of making threatening phone calls to businesses and referencing this horrific shooting as the entire City of Buffalo is grieving this tragedy. This crime will not be tolerated – especially as we are actively investigating the Jefferson Avenue shooting as a domestic terrorism incident. Any threat will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Erie County DA John Flynn said, according to the WKBW.

He’s currently being held without bail pending the results of a forensic examination. If convicted he will spend up to seven years in prison.
