California landlord under investigation after bragging about using former tenants ballots to vote for Trump.

A landlord in California is accused of committing voter and mail fraud after using his previous tenants mail-in ballots to cast votes for Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Charles Pierce, 70, the landlord of the Manzanita Manor Apartments in Redding, California made a series of post on Reddit under the username  ‘ManCow2000’ saying he received mail-in ballots for four previous tenants and used them all to cast votes for Trump.

Pierce also said he used the ballots to vote in opposition of rent control and school bond measures in Shasta County, according to a local NBC affiliate.

He has since been fired as landlord of the Manzanita Manor Apartments and the Shasta County Registrar of Voters has turned over the case to the District Attorney’s office.

“I’ve never seen a situation like this where someone actually went onto a social media site and basically bragged about it” Tom Toller Shasta County Registrar of voters said. “Our job is to make sure that the integrity of the vote is preserved, that we try to make sure we aren’t counting fraudulent ballots.”

The DA’s office confirmed that Pierce’s case has been referred to them for further investigation.

“Every election, my office receives, from the Registrar of Voters, allegations of voter fraud,” they added. “We look into each, often resulting in educating those involved in the election process on the resources available to them to ensure compliance with the law. We also, in appropriate cases, file criminal charges for violation of the elections code.”

Election fraud is punishable by up to 3 years in prison under California law.

But, Pierce is now claiming he didn’t actually do what he said he did in the Reddit post and was just trolling.
