Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) encouraged Donald Trump to buy a Bible and read the passage on adultery after the former president announced he’s selling Bibles for $60 a pop.
“Happy Holy Week, Donald. Instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one. And read it, including Exodus 20:14.”
The verse Cheney mentioned states: “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
Trump announced the move in a post on his Truth Social site Tuesday writing: “Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible.”
The desperate attempt for cash comes as Trump is facing mounting legal debts including paying for attorneys to represent him in a criminal trial in New York where he is accused of falsifying business records to pay hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels to cover up their alleged affair while his third wife, Melania, was home with their newborn son.
The trial is set to begin next month.
