Georgia Republican senate candidate Herschel Walker was scolded by the debate moderator on Friday night after he flashed what appeared to be a badge while responding to an attack from Democratic opponent Sen. Raphael Warnock.
While responding to a question about policing, Warnock said he never “pretended to be a police officer and I’ve never threatened a shootout with the police,” referring to Walker’s past comments about working in law enforcement and a police report from 2001 saying Walker threatened a shootout with officers.
Walker then pulled what appeared to be a badge from his pocket which led to the debate moderator scolding him for violating debate rules banning the use of props.
Walker has claimed several times in the past that he worked in law enforcement even though there is no evidence to support his claim.
