Detroit Rep. Cynthia Johnson, the Democratic chair of the Michigan state House Oversight Committee was stripped of her committee posts after she responded to Trump supporters who called for her to be lynched.
Over the weekend, Rep. Johnson posted voicemails she received from Trump supporters threatening violence against her and using several other racist remarks after she participated in Rudy Giuliani’s election hearing last week.

“You should be swinging from a (expletive) rope you Democrat,” one of the voicemails said. “Your time is coming … from the (expletive) gallows you’ll be hanging,” said another.
Johnson responded to the threats on Tuesday in a three minute video on Facebook, according to The Detroit News. She issued a warning to Trump supporters, telling them to “be careful” and “walk lightly’. She told her supporters to do “things right and in order”. “We ain’t playing with you,” Rep. Johnson said. She also told her supporters to “hit their a—s” in the pocketbook.
“Enough of the shenanigans,” Rep Johnson said. “Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay.”
On Wednesday, she posted another video to clarify that it was time for “soldiers” for Christ, against racism and against misogyny to “rise.”

The Republican Speaker of the House later announced that she would be stripped of her seats on the House Agriculture; Oversight; and Families, Children and Seniors committees because threats are “unbecoming of an elected official”.
This is ridiculous. This woman was threatened by lynching. Bet you didn’t say one word when when your Governor was threatened by members Of YOUR GOP Party. Did you discipline ANY Of them? Telling Trump Supporters to “step lightly & be careful” is a threat after what she was subjected to? Unfair. You are going for revenge, which should not be tolerated either.
