California Congressman Devin Nunes told local radio station KMJNOW that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Nunes’ positive test comes after he spent months downplaying the severity of the virus.

In April he told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham: “When you have people staying home, not taking care of themselves, you will have a hell of a lot more people dying by other causes that you will the coronavirus.”

And in May, he told Americans to ignore COVID guidelines and go for a night out to support local businesses.

“If you’re healthy, you and your family its a great time to go out and go to a local restaurant, likely you can get in easily. Let’s not hurt the working people in this country that are relying on wages and tips to keep their small business going. So don’t run to the grocery store and buy, you know, $4,000 of food — go to your local pub.”

According to CNN, since the start of the pandemic 11 senators and 34 House members have tested positive or have antibodies for the virus.
