Texas family sentenced for their roles in Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

A family of five from Texas were sentenced on Wednesday for their roles in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

District of Columbia Chief District Judge Beryl Howell sentenced Dawn Munn, a nurse, and her husband Thomas Munn,an Army vet, to 14 days in prison, three months home confinement and three years of probation each. Their three adult children Joshua, Kristi and Kayli were sentenced to probation. Kristi, the oldest, also received a sentence of 90 days home confinement, according to CBS News.


A fourth child, who is a minor, also traveled with them from Texas to DC. The child was not charged.

Prosecutors alleged that the family climbed into the Capitol through broken windows in a Senate wing door at around 2:25 pm on January 6. They “roamed” through the building for about an hour, watching “rioters and officers gathered to the west of the building.”


All five family members pleaded guilty in May to knowingly entering a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in the Capitol, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol.
