Florida man planned to blame Black Lives Matter for the murder of his ex-girlfriend and her family.

A Florida man accused of hiring a hitman to kill his ex-girlfriend and her family planned to blame their murders on Black Lives Matter, according to court documents obtained by NBC News.

Authorities allege Daniel Slater, 51, thought his former in-laws ruined his relationship and hired an ‘associate’ to kill them in June last year.

Slater detailed how he wanted the associate to kill his ex-girlfriend. According to the criminal complaint, the associate was instructed to knock out the woman’s teeth, break her nose and throw acid on her face. The associate was also told to kill the ex-girlfriend’s sister and the sister’s husband, the document said.

Slater also drove the associate to the sister’s home and instructed the associate about what to do.

“Slater pointed out a window in the home, explained how [the sister] and her [husband] sat in their living room at specific times, and told the [associate] to shoot the victims through the window during one of those times,” according to the complaint.

Slater also told the associate to hire a hitman to help with the assassination and after it was done the associate was suppose to spray paint “Black Lives Matter” on the home to “make it appear as if members with that movement were responsible,” the complaint said.

Around that time, there was nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd.

But, Slater was not aware that the associate was working with the FBI and that the hitman the associate hired was an undercover FBI agent.

He was arrested on June 12 when he met with the associate who showed him photoshopped images of the murder. Slater allegedly paid the associate $400 for finishing the job and promised more payment at a later date.

Slater has been charged with murder for hire, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess. If convicted he could face 90 years in jail but will serve a maximum of 10 years because of a plea deal.
