Fox News referred to President Joe Biden as a “wannabe dictator” on Tuesday night following Donald Trump’s arraignment earlier in the day on charges related to hoarding classified documents at his Florida private club.
The network briefly showed a split screen of dueling speeches from President Biden at the White House and Trump at his New Jersey Golf club with the banner, “WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED.”
Trump was arraigned Tuesday on 37 counts relating to his mishandling of classified documents after leaving office and obstructing federal investigators efforts to reclaim them.
The former president pleaded not guilty to all counts and has repeatedly dismissed the charges as a political attack by the Biden administration.
The White House has denied that Biden had any input in the case.
“[Biden] was not involved,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Tuesday. “The president has been very, very clear: the Department of Justice is independent.”
