Fox News' Geraldo Rivera predicts Republicans are "going down in 2024."

Co-host of ‘The Five’ on Fox News, Geraldo Rivera predicted that Republicans will suffer more losses in 2024 due to the party’s extreme anti-abortion policies.

“Idaho passed [a] law making it a crime to help a minor get an out-of-state abortion without her parent’s consent,” Rivera tweeted on Sunday. “What are they going to do, set up roadblocks to interrogate all kids returning across state lines? Put trackers on all teenage girls? It’s why GOP is going down in 2024.”

Idaho is one of several Republican controlled states to pass laws restricting access to abortion after the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer.

Last month, Republicans in Idaho passed a bill restricting travel for an abortion by creating the crime of “abortion trafficking”. It bans adults from obtaining abortion pills for a minor or “recruiting, harboring or transporting the pregnant minor” across state lines for the procedure without the consent of the minor’s parent.

A person found guilty of ‘abortion trafficking’ could face two to five years in prison.

Idaho Governor Brad Little (R) signed the bill into law earlier this month and it takes effect May 5.
