Fox News host Jesse Watters said Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman is his “favorite” senator in the country.
Watters made the comment in the Christmas Day episode of The Five while adding Fetterman to his “nice list.”
“John Fetterman and I didn’t get off to a good start, I thought he was brain-dead and I thought the people of Pennsylvania deserved better, but he turned out to be my favorite senator,” Watters said. “And he is making more sense than Republicans and Democrats, so he is on my nice list, with a little apology note.”
Since the election, Fetterman has taken a more conciliatory tone with Trump than any of his Democratic colleagues.
Over the weekend, Fetterman told ABC News in an interview that anyone rooting against Trump is “rooting against the nation” and praised the “undeniable” and “singular political talent” of Trump.
Fetterman has also signalled that he is open to supporting the president-elect’s most controversial nominees including Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee for defense secretary who is accused of sexual assault and Kash Patel, Trump’s pick to lead the FBI who has promised to use the agency to target Trump’s critics.
Fetterman has already said he will vote to confirm Rep. Elise Stefanik as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and Sen. Marco Rubio for secretary of state.
