Ginni Thomas told the Jan. 6 committee she still believes the election was stolen from Trump.

Ginni Thomas' attorney wants Jan. 6 committee to 'provide a better justification' for why her testimony is relevant.

Virginia ‘Ginni’ Thomas, the wife of conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, told the House Jan. 6 committee on Thursday that she still believes the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump, nearly two years later.

“The information was typical of a lot of information we received from other people who were involved in this effort around Jan. 6. A lot of: ‘Well, I believed something was wrong,’” committee chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), told reporters Thursday, according to Politico. “She was one of those people we wanted to talk to and, ultimately, we eventually got there.”

Thompson didn’t give many other details about Thomas’ more than four hour interview with the panel.

Thomas’ attorney Mark Paoletta, said in a statement that Thomas was “happy to cooperate with the Committee to clear up the misconceptions about her activities surrounding the 2020 elections.”

Thomas was involved in a scheme to try and overturn the results of the election in two key states President Joe Biden won in the 2020 presidential election.

She urged lawmakers in Wisconsin to overturn Biden’s win there and sent text messages to more than two dozen Arizona lawmakers arguing that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

She exchanged emails with lawyer John Eastman who drafted memos for the Trump campaign outlining how Vice President Mike Pence could overturn the results of the election in Congress.

Thomas also texted then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows urging him to continue to fight to overturn the election.

“Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!…You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History,” Thomas wrote to Meadows, according to the Washington Post.

Paoletta said Thomas told the committee her election-related activity “focused on ensuring that reports of fraud and irregularities were investigated. Beyond that, she played no role in any events after the 2020 election results.”
