Head of a major law firm bought property owned by Neil Gorsuch days after his confirmation tongue Supreme Court, report says.

The CEO of a major law firm that has had cases before the US Supreme Court bought a property owned by Neil Gorsuch just days after he was confirmed to the highest court in the land.

According to Politico, a 3,000-square foot log home on the Colorado River co-owned by Gorsuch was on the market for two years. But, nine days after Gorsuch was confirmed to the high court in 2017, Brian Duffy, the CEO of Greenberg Traurig—one of the largest law firms in the country—bought the property.

As co-owner, Gorsuch held a 20% stake in the home and made somewhere between $250,001 and $500,000 from the $1.825 million sale.

Gorsuch did not reveal the identity of the buyer.

Greenberg Traurig employs more than 2,000 attorneys and is regularly involved in cases before the Supreme Court. Since the firm’s CEO purchased the home, Greenberg Traurig has been involved in at least 22 cases before or presented to the court, according to a review of the court’s docket by Politico.

In the 12 cases where Gorsuch’s opinion is recorded, he sided with Greenberg Traurig clients eight times and against them four times.
