"I got no defense": Ted Cruz responds after viral tweet mocking California's energy policies resurfaces amid a winter storm shutting down Texas:

Texas senator Ted Cruz ended up with frozen egg on his face on Tuesday when he was forced to admit that he had no defense as old tweets mocking California’s “failed energy policies” resurfaced. This as millions of people in his home state lost power in their homes due to winter storms.

In August, California governor’s office urged residents to conserve energy during a heat wave as the state experienced power blackouts.

Cruz responded to the tweet saying:

“California is now unable to perform even basic functions of civilization, like having reliable electricity. Biden/Harris/AOC want to make CA’s failed energy policy the standard nationwide. Hope you don’t like air conditioning.”

But now that millions in Texas are without power due to a massive winter storm overwhelming the state’s power grid, Cruz was force to strike a rare conciliatory tone, tweeting “I got no defense” in response to the viral tweet.
