House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) wants the last-minute pardons issued by former President Joe Biden to be declared “null and void.”

Comer suggested that House and Senate Republicans were ready to use the Trump weaponized Department of Justice to go after individuals like Dr. Anthony Fauci but Biden’s pre-emptive pardons derailed their plans.

“We already did the investigation, and we already have criminal referrals sitting on the desk at Department of Justice,” Comer told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. “The Senate did the same. Homeland Security also has criminal referrals, dating back a year-and-a-half on Dr. Fauci. We also, my committee, the Oversight Committee, did an investigation of the pardon that Joe Biden gave — all the pardons — and we concluded Joe Biden wasn’t at the table.”

“There were no meetings with Joe Biden,” he continued. “The Constitution’s clear, the president has sole authority to grant pardons, but there’s no evidence that, at the time, President Biden was even involved in the pardon process. They were signed by autopen, but there’s no evidence, and that was based on all the depositions we had with all the key people in the White House during the Biden administration. There’s no evidence Joe Biden participated in the decision-making on the pardon process.”

Comer claimed the only pardon President Biden actually signed was that of his son Hunter.

“There were never scheduled meetings on his calendar, there was not a single person involved in the pardon process, in the decision-making on who authorized the autopen who ever met with Joe Biden and discussed the individual pardons,” he said. “So, I think that alone is more than enough evidence to declare all the pardons issued by Joe Biden in last day of his presidency null and void.”

Comer infamously led House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry of Biden based on allegations that Biden benefited from Hunter’s foreign dealings during his time as VP. The inquiry failed to provide any evidence and eventually went nowhere.

Comer was mocked on social media with several users pointing out that if Biden’s pardons were invalidated, an incoming Democratic president could do the same to the pardons issued by Trump to insurrectionists, fraudsters, money launderers, drug lords and tax cheats.
