Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), 40, told supporters in Nevada that 78-year-old Donald Trump is in much better health than him.
“I think the presidency is such a big job. I feel extremely confident, I mean, hell, Donald Trump is healthier than I am,” Vance, Trump’s running mate said at a rally in Reno, Nevada.
“I feel extremely confident that Donald Trump is going to serve and serve well for four years for the American people and I’m going to help him,’ he continued. “We are going to make America great again and we are going to do it together.”
If elected, Trump would be the oldest president ever inaugurated. However, the campaign is refusing to release his medical records despite concerns about his mental acuity.
Vance, a first-term senator, is the least qualified VP candidate in history with no governing experience.
At Wednesday’s rally Vance assured the audience he is capable of leading and that they should ignore the media questions about his lack of experience.
“The question is not whether the media says I’m ready, the question is whether the American people do,” he said. “They are the ones that determine a president and the vice president, and I’m proud to be an outsider to American politics.”
Vance cited his work as a senator (he was elected TWO years ago), businessman and his time in the Marines as experience.
“I’ve got something we have spades in this room….which is common sense,” he said. “That’s what we see in American leaders.”
